Lompoc is a city in Santa Barbara County, California, with a population of 41,103 at the 2000 census. It is located on scenic Pacific Coast Highway (California Hwy 1) and Highway 246. It is 55 miles northwest of Santa Barbara, 155 miles northwest of Los Angeles and 270 miles southeast of San Francisco. Lompoc has a mild climate, with September through December featuring some of the best weather. The Lompoc Valley is the "Gateway to the Santa Rita Hills Wine Country."
